Wagner insurrectionists turn out to be just really bad LARPers

In a bizarre turn of events, the Wagner insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol building were actually just really bad live-action role players (LARPers). The group, which was initially thought to be a coordinated attack on American democracy, ended up being a ragtag collection of nerdy enthusiasts with a penchant for medieval weaponry.
According to sources, the insurrectionists had been planning the event for months, gathering their costumes, weapons and shields in secret. They had hoped to bring down the government with the same tactics used by their favorite fictional characters in popular movies and games. Unfortunately, their lack of training and strategy proved to be their undoing.
Despite their failure to achieve their objectives, the LARPers remain unrepentant. "We may not have taken the Capitol, but we did have a great time," said one member of the group. "We even managed to enchant a few of the Capitol police officers with our spells." While the Wagner insurrectionists may not have accomplished much, they have certainly created a new level of absurdity in an already strange time in American politics.
